Jahangir Khan is a senior photojournalist who has worked for various news organizations of national and international repute. He attained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree of journalism from Shah Latif University, Khairpur, Pakistan. He has done a six months photojournalism course at Asahi Shimbun Institute of Journalism Tokyo Japan and has become a first-ever Pakistani photojournalist who took this kind of training from abroad.

Jahangir Khan started his career in 1998 as a photographer for “Daily Din” and after two years he diverted towards reporting and started working for “Daily Kainat” He also got the opportunity from “REUTERS” while working for “Daily DAWN” and remained attached for eight years. He instead working as a staffer in Associated Press of Pakistan. During his career, Jahangir Khan covered various big events that left a great impact on history. Those were including the World’s biggest religious event Hajj 2014,18,19,20,21 at the holy city of Makkah Saudi Arab, missiles tests of different ranges, air to ground missile firing exercises in Pakistan, Ghotki train accident, Indus blind dolphin rescue operation, flood coverage in Sindh and Balochistan, change of command of U.S Navy in Bahrain, Emperor of Japan, big sports events, Asian Club football tournament in Tokyo, coverage of Benazir Bhutto till death, Musharraf’s coverage and many others.

Jahangir contribute to organizing the first ever exhibition of Pakistani photojournalists in Tokyo Japan under the logo of “Understand land and the people of Pakistan” in Tokyo.
Once again he put his efforts to portray Pakistan through his picture and became a part of another great exhibition in Japan on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Pak Japan diplomatic relations Held at ASAHI Shimbun Photo gallery which is the largest newspaper in Japan
Jahangir Khan was one among 50 “World Photographer who were selected for World Photographers Focusing on Beijing” 2013,2015, an international photographic event sponsored by the Information Office of the Beijing Municipality. Jahangir Khan was also a part of the project in Turkey Izmir titled “A Legacy for Tomorrow”. The exhibition project documented today’s Izmir from the perspectives of 18 artists and photographers and became a legacy and a commiseration of the history of Izmir for future generations, he also attended Izmir an international photo conference and exhibition.

He has won different prizes for his various pictures including the Humanity Photo Awards (HPA) 2015 organized by the China Folklore Photographic Association on the eve of UNESCO’s 70th-anniversary celebrations. First prize award on Benazir Bhutto’s picture exhibition in Sukkur on her first death anniversary, first prize in the competition of best pictures of the city by City Government, Sukkur, Pakistan. One of his greatest achievement is his solo exhibition Held at the Japan Culture Center of the Consulate General of Japan Karachi from 15 to 17 October 2010 with the title of “Contemporary Japan Caught by Lens” where a large number of his pictures were displayed that was taken during his training period at japan.
After his first successful exhibition, other exhibitions were held in different cities of Pakistan, like Islamabad, Faisalabad, Lahore and Sukkur where a large number of visitors came and appreciate his work.
During his services for different organizations, he also became a member of various professional journalist associations and worked in leading positions, including Sukkur Press Club, Sukkur Press Photographer Association, Pakistan Press Photographer Association and Pakistan Association of Photojournalists, Tokyo Press Photographers Association at present, he is a council member of the Karachi Press Club, working in Dunia Production, a leading production house of Arab world.
