One of the synonymous names in the field of Photojournalism in Bangladesh, Quazi Rownaq Hossain has a tremendous experience, contribution and achievement in the related field. He is been faculty of Photo Journalism under the Department of Mass Communication & Journalism, Dhaka University since 2000. He has worked for Dainik Bangla as the senior Photo Journalist for 10 years and has lended his experience in the related field in various newspapers and media as well for more than 3 decades till 1983. His hundreds of articles, interviews, and feature stories have been published in different Dailies, weeklies, monthlies, periodicals and journals etc. at home and abroad during more than last three decades.

The man has also translated two books of Jules Vern from English to Bangla for Seba Prokashani. Currently he is also the editor & publisher of the only regular monthly magazine on Music in Bangladesh named ‘Sargam’since last 27 years. With the MA (Hons) in Mass Communication & Journalism from Dhaka University, the man is been the resource person and has trained hundreds of individuals in various aspects of layout, designing, printing with special emphasis on Photography for Press Institute of Bangladesh, Biswa Sahitto Kendro, Savar Cantonment, News Network, Proshika, The Forum for developing Journalism Chittagong, Moula Baksh Sarder Memorial Trust, Bangladesh Institute of Journalism and Electronic Media( BIJEM), BCJDC, I-earn and many others. He also has successfully completed many assignments on photo documentation for the World Bank, ANZ Grindlays Bank, Canadian International Water Purification Ltd., JUKI Corporation Japan and many more.

Other than Photo Journalism and being in the media, the man has also played integral role in various organizations. He has been senior Vice President National Press Club and Executive committee member since 1997. Past President for Rotary Club of Sonargaon Dhaka and Past Lieutenant Governor Rotary International District 3280, Bangladesh. Also, the Founder General Secretary Bangladesh Sastryio Sangeetangon (a cultural forum for the welfare and betterment of Classical Music and Artistes of the country), Founder member Bangladesh Photojournalists’ Association, President Sanket Sanskritik Gosthi, a renowned cultural organization of the Country.

He is also the life member for Bangla Academy, Dhaka University Alumni Association, Dhaka University Mass Communication and Journalism Alumni Association, Member Forum of Environmental Journalists (FEJB) which works nationally and internationally on many issues of environment, climate change, awareness development on wild life protection, conservation of biodiversity, etc. He is also the Board member CDC Center for Developing Communication.

With the course of career and professional engagement he has travelled globally which includes destinations like USA, India, Nepal, Canada, China, Singapore, Pakistan, Bhutan, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Sweden, Srilanka and Myanmar.

He is also a popular face of Electronic media talk shows on contemporary and political issues attending regularly in all the important media at home and abroad Viz. NTV, DBC, BanglaTV, ATN News and ATN Bangla, Banglavision, Time news USA, TBN USA etc.
